One of the things I love best about my role as a physician is being a part of the solution. I want to be a resource to empower the people who are taking care of their children day to day. We share the same goal: to see each child thrive and grow up healthy and happy so they can reach their fullest potential. With children, we have a wonderful opportunity to anticipate and prevent issues so each child can find their optimal health. Part of that is giving children a voice. A little baby may not have words yet, but their bodies can speak for them. Even teenagers, who seem like they should be able to speak for themselves, need our support as they learn to take good care of themselves. As a pediatrician, I get to advocate on behalf of all children, and I find so much meaning in that. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York, Stony Brook, and completed my residency in Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, Benioff Children's Hospital.
