“She is gentle and non judgemental. She listens to my concerns and needs regarding my weight and other issues”

“Super thorough annual physical with Dr. Shah. Extremely positive attitude and high energy, which are key for these type of visits. She brought a different perspective regarding food diet and way of looking at things in my annual physical exam compared to prior experiences with other doctors. Recommended.”

She yawned about 40 times during a 15 minute first appointment. Barely listened, asked the same questions twice.. probably will not return.

I was actually excited about seeing a doctor and getting a wellness exam. However, Dr. Shah was not what I had anticipated. Without going into a long story, I found my first interaction w her to be condescending and judgemental. On top of that, she has an air of arrogance like she's better than you. She reminded me 3x that I have a HMO policy and not a PPO plan - I know what I signed up for. She didn't express any interest, empathy or respect for my history and life choices. She's seems more eager to offer medication than holistic options. If you're not receptive to her advice, she will get impatient. She ordered a few tests and lab work for me, nothing complicated was performed. I won't be seeing her again as my PCP.

Honestly i’m Looking For a New PCP as we speak …. She was not a Good Fit For me…. I was not heard by her and the bulk of the conversation stemmed on INC Not my Overall Health concerns and then she was making me out to be unhealthy becaues of my elevated BMI Which i know that i am that obese but forcing a weightloss med on me instead of finding non medication alternatives first is absrub. i explained to her i would like to do it a more HOLOSTIC way and her response was it’s not FDA APPROVED . But the medication she wants me on is a bit much the WARNINGS on the medication are there for a reason but according to her it’s a LOW chance it could happen to me and she also gave me the perception that i could not lose the weight alone and neeeded a aide which i get but lets get a baseline first and then try meds if need be i get most DRs Get a Kick back off of what they prescribe but until i see reviews OF a NEW MECICATION … i would like to be safe … so no i would not be following up.

Really knowledgeable and listened to my concerns. Gave me options and educated me on each option and how each medication would work. I felt heard.
