Dr. Langner specializes in the psychobiological treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, and thought disorders. He received his medical training at the University of Vienna & at the University of Minnesota, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Langner completed his residency in Psychiatry and Neurology at the Menninger Foundation. He is Board Certified (in the top 10%) in Neurology and Psychiatry. He is on the staff at Provena Mercy Hospital in Aurora, Illinois where he served as Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry. He was Chief of Psychiatry aboard the U.S.S. Sanctuary while serving in the Navy in Vietnam. This experience led to an article published in the American Journal of Psychiatry that looks at the relationship between atrocities committed by American military personnel and failed foreign policy in Vietnam. He has a special interest in Attachment Disorders and is author of the book "Attachment and Suicide", which explores the adverse health consequences of disturbances to the bond between infant and primary caregiver.
