Huachen Wei, M.D., Ph.D., MSPH, F.A.A.D., is a tenured Professor of Dermatology and Oncological Sciences, the Director of Dermatology Research Laboratories at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Wei obtained his medical degree from Shandong Medical University in 1982, his Master from Beijing Medical University in 1986, and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Environmental Oncology from New York University in 1992. Dr. Wei served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham from 1992-1995, and joined the Mount Sinai Hospital as an Associate Professor in 1995. Meanwhile, he passed United States Medical Licensing Examination, and completed his internship in Medicine and residency in Dermatology at the Mount Sinai Hospital. He was promoted to a tenured Professor of Dermatology in 2003.

I had a 2:30 appointment that I arrived at 2:15 for. The front desk called me for my copay right away then proceeded to take everyone that came after me, before me. After complaining at 2:55 I was told that I would be next which is obvious because there was no one left in the waiting room. No apology or explanation from the staff just very poor tracking of patients, very unacceptable and unprofessional. When I seen the doctor I just felt rushed by her. It was a 2 min conversation at most with her and she sent me on my way. I feel like I wasn’t given a good diagnosis at all so I have to find a different dermatologist for a second opinion. I would not return here.

Dr. Wei is professional and courteous without wasting time on small talk - he gets right to the point of the appointment and was able to educate me about the diagnosis as well as treatment plan. wait time was less than 15 minutes and the treatment time was even less than that. he also electronically sends the prescription to the 'Buy Rite' pharmacy downstairs so you get your meds right away. Highly recommend this practice, especially if you are in the chinatown area.

Dr. Wei was friendly, answered my questions, and made me feel comfortable. He was able to send my prescription to a nearby pharamacy which was ready by the time I arrived. The office could use some update but overall a quick visit, (I waited about 15 minutes or so) and a pleasant experience.

Not personable at all and the scribe at the front desk had a nasty attitude. I had an appointment through zocdoc and it was pointless because they didn't honor it. I had to wait over an hour to get checked.

This visit was terrible! The receptionists were extremely rude and were not helpful AT ALL. I waited over an hour to be seen, and when I was actually called in, the visit lasted no more than 5 minutes. I still have not been told what was wrong with me. Instead, I was rushed out of the office with 5 different prescriptions,that were sent to their partner pharmacy (I was told that prescriptions cant be filled anywhere else). Yet still my doctor made no move to explain what everything was for, or even how they were to be used. Thank God for Google!
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR.
