Dr. Pierro received his undergraduate education at Columbia University in New York City, and his medical degree from SUNY at Buffalo, New York. He then completed his medical internship and residency at St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, and has been affiliated with that institution ever since. For over two decades, Dr. Pierro has been involved in private practice and involved in the teaching of medical students.
Dr. Pierro is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and his office offers a broad spectrum of medical services. Dr. Pierro believes in medical care that is strongly individualized, comprehensive, and preventative. In particular, he is very successful when implementing a natural nutritional plan, i.e., one where no weight loss pills/protein bars/shaves/surgery are ever used, one where hunger is not permitted, and one by which both young and elderly adults accomplish significant weight reduction, even in the presence of co-existing chronic illnesses.
Dr. Pierro can accommodate same day and after-hours appointments, weekend services, and local house calls. The office accepts most government-issued insurance, and most commercial insurances, provided pertinent deductibles and co-payments have been met. Patients without insurance, or with restrictive plans, will be charged a small nominal fee for consultations.
