Dr. Deitz graduated with honors from the University Of Pennsylvania and the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He trained in Psychiatry at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and at the Philadelphia Psychoanalytic Institute. He is board certified in Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis.
Dr. Deitz has spent his career integrating neurobiological and psychodynamic approaches to anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder, about which he has published in the psychotherapy and psychodynamic therapy literature. He has lectured throughout the country. Experienced in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychiatric medications for mood and anxiety disorders, Dr. Deitz has been in private practice continuously since 1977.
Dr. Deitz was on the faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and is an attending psychiatrist at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Connecticut. He teaches psychopharmacology to psychotherapists in training in New York City.
Dr. Deitz is has also testified as an expert witness about the consequences of childhood psychological trauma, and consults and advises many law firms in the region, and has worked with the Archdiocese of New York.
