Jacob Sacks is a compassionate and patient psychiatrist and psychotherapist assisting his patients through mental and emotional conditions in San Francisco. In addition to a rigorous training in psychiatry at NYU/Bellevue Hospital, he has pursued additional training and work at UCSF, and continues intensive advanced training in psychoanalytic techniques. Drawing on this diverse background, he can offer you new and deeper ways of understanding and treating your symptoms. Dr. Sacks is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and he is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Northern California Psychiatric Society, the American Psychoanalytic Association, and the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis.
Dr. Sacks received his medical degree from the University of Colorado. He then completed his psychiatry residency at New York University and Bellevue Hospital Center. Dr. Sacks participated in a psychiatry fellowship at the University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Sacks’ professional passion is assisting patients wanting to reach a greater potential or overcome a wide range of conditions including depression, anxiety, excessive worry, relationship problems, mood disorders, bereavement, sleep problems, and obsessive compulsive disorder.

A 50 minute consultation, with asany truths being told as possible in a short amount of time. Was given "new patient forms" to being to my next scheduled appointment, asked to email contact info for other doctors I've seen, and discussed a 3rd appointment the week of Thanksgiving before he goes on vacation.
ALL before a voicemail & email explaining he doesn't believe he can help. And no "true" answer as to why. He cancelled the next appointment, & never even contacted my primary care physician. Who, by the way, believes the way Dr. Sacks handled this was completely unprofessional.
I had VERY high hopes for Dr Sacks to help me, but to lead me to believe I'd see him again, only to be dumped as a patient, all while dancing around the true reason why, is unacceptable, & quite frankly, sad.
IF this review does get posted (doubtful), please take into account reheat the doctors on this site PAY for only the good reviews to show up (per my PCP). Just take that into consideration.
