Jean has been a true lifeline throughout the Coronavirus lockdown. The telemedicine sessions I had with her were a life saver. After every session I felt more centered, and relieved of any pain. When I could go back for acupuncture session it was also phenomenal. She is so on point every time. I could really reboot and felt rejuvenated after my session. For the past 3 years, she has helped me so much physically, and emotionally. I always feel back to myself after I have seen her. I am so grateful to have met her and to be able to see her on a regular basis.

Growing up on a Taiwanese rice farm, Jean Menges suffered from debilitating allergies - until she saw a village doctor who used a combination of eastern and western therapies to heal her. “Sometimes he’d use modern medicine, sometimes Chinese herbs,” Jean recalls. “But he was always kind and attentive. He made a huge impact on me.” So much so that after moving to the United States at the age of ten, Jean pursued a similar path, attaining her biology and medical technology degrees at Case Western Reserve University. Upon graduation, she performed molecular genetics research at University Hospital of Cleveland before realizing her true calling was more hands-on approach to healing. She enrolled in the school of acupuncture at South Baylo University, where received her master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She also studied the meridian system, a traditional Chinese medicine belief about which the life energy known as ‘Qi’ flows. “That fascinated me,” Jean explains. “Because it answers the ‘why’ about underlying causes and explains the relationship our bodies have to environmental changes and lifestyles habits.”
She then moved to New York City, where she went into private practice and has been helping treat not only the symptoms, but also the root cause of her patients’ health issues ever since. Her mission: helping them get to know their bodies and understand that - more often than not - the human body is fully capable of healing itself as long as it is properly listened to. The innumerable ailments she’s able to address through acupuncture include neurological conditions, respiratory conditions, digestive system disorders, gynecological disorders, urological disorders, skin conditions, musculoskeletal disorders, psychosomatic pain and sports injuries.
In addition to implementing one-point acupuncture treatment based on the method created by Dr. Wan, the acclaimed doctor of Chinese medicine, Jean also dispenses herbal tinctures. Says Jean: “When the body cannot reestablish dynamic balance on its own, herbs can help.” She has been nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Simply put, Jean and the team at the NY Center for Healing are wonderful. I have never felt so at home when seeing a healthcare provider.
Jean is an expert. I constantly ask technical questions about her methods and she consistently satisfies my curiosity with thoughtful scientific analysis.
However, in my opinion, what truly makes Jean special is her ability to connect to her patients on a human level. She genuinely demonstrates a personal investment and always takes the time to have a conversation regarding my well-being -- mind, body, and soul.
Bottom-line: I would recommend Jean’s treatment to anyone willing to listen to me gush!

My first visit was a great experience all around. Jean is friendly, patient, and knows her stuff. I appreciate her holistic and results oriented approach.
She answered all of my questions and gave helpful explanations of how acupuncture could help with some of the symptoms. She explained that the ultimate goal of acupuncture is to get your body to a balanced state where it can heal itself, whenever possible.

Jean is a healer not an acupuncturist. She takes time to understand your pains, body and systems. She makes you feel at home and not nervous about what she is doing. She makes you feel relaxed pre and post session. I am a regular now as she has helped me so much with my issues and mentally she has been a true influence to my state of mind after i leave. My visit with Jean was productive! She took her time to explain to me what was going with my body and why I had the symptoms I was having after she asked me a series of questions. Bad stress does some serious damage to the body and really forces you to pay attention to yourself care amd seek out help.
Once she started the session, I had immediate results! I have NEVER had that happen during an acupuncture procedure before and I've been to a couple over the past few years. It was amazing! I am still pleasantly surprised.
Jean explained what she was doing and asked about my comfort level along the way. She has an excellent bedside manner.
I scheduled my follow up appointments and am looking forward to my next visit with her. I finally found the right person to treat me. I am really grateful to have had the opportunity to find the right care through ZocDoc.

Jean was immediately welcoming and so was Eva. They are both very accommodating. It was a very clean and serene environment. It was my first time in her office and she asked a lot about my personal health history. She walked me through the process showing me diagrams and letting me know what to expect. Jean is nothing short of amazing. Very calming demeanor. She asked a lot of questions and listened very carefully. By the time the treatment began, I felt that she understood very well what my issues were. With one very strategically placed needle, chronic pain just vanished. She explained everything that she was doing at every step along the way. Eva, who runs the front desk, could not be more helpful. She makes you feel comfortable and at ease as soon as you arrive. Every week I have a session of acupuncture done in this office and it is an experience that I look forward to. I have been living with chronic pain, sine a stroke, on the entire left side of my body for the last 5 years. There have been very little results with the use of heavy medications. Since November 2013 I started receiving treatment in this office and the results have been unimaginable. I am a stroke patient and I do not want to see anyone suffering after having this illness. I recommend anyone to seek this treatment especially at this office because I had treatment done at another office with no success. A friend recommend Jean Menges a chance and to try a visit with her. I am very happy I did because the results have been wonderful. She is very professional and caring and does all she can to make you feel comfortable and treat you the best way possible.
