Currently an Attending Physician in the Gastroenterology Department at the California Pacific Medical Center on California Street, Dr. Jeffrey Aron has been practicing gastroenterology in San Francisco for 36 years.
He was the Chairman of the Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at UCSF Mount Zion Hospital and Medical Center for 19 years. He was a founding member of the Northern California Chapter of the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, and served as President of the Board of Trustees of the Northern California chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. He was the recipient of the Premier Physician Award of the CCFA, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at University of California at San Francisco. He is a charter member of the San Francisco division of the Foundation for Digestive Health and Nutrition of the American Gastroenterological Association, and an Attending Physician in the Division of Gastroenterology at California Pacific Medical Center.
Dr. Aron has lectured and taught at major national and international conferences, and has many media appearances, including his regular radio segment on nutrition on the Ronn Owens Show. He is engaged in the education of the general public on the central importance of the digestive tract in health on regional and national radio. He has contributed many scientific publications, and together with his wife Harriette, is the co-author of “Gut-Check: Your Prime Source for Bowel Health and Colon Cancer Prevention”.

After 3 months i visited another facility and was identified for minor haemorrides.

Very disorganized practice.
Waited over one hour to see Dr. Aron, who did not apologize. Had to follow up with three phone calls to hear back on lab work, and the receptionist gave me the wrong information. Messaged Dr. Aron on the patient portal, and after three weeks still had not heard back.

In my perfect world, everything would be on time, but if a little tardiness (~15 minutes) is my biggest complaint, I'll take it everyday. Thanks again Dr. Aron!

I very rarely write online reviews, but I have to make an exception for Dr Aron. I had my first appointment with him yesterday and he was exceptional. He spent over an hour with me in his office taking the most detailed medical/family history any doctor has ever taken from me. He was thorough, intelligent, inquisitive and most importantly I could tell I was in good hands. I tend to get what I call "white coat anxiety" (most doctors and dentists make me very anxious), but Dr. Aron's calm and thoughtful bedside manner put me at ease. I found Dr. Aron through a google search for "best gastroenterologist in San Francisco" and he didn't disappoint!

Dr. Aron gave me a few things that others haven't so much in the past: (1) a really good conversation about the workings of the GI system, (2) the time to ask me deep questions about my health and lifestyle to really get a full picture of what may be affecting what, and (3) openness and honesty about possible procedures and changes in medicine over the years. Dr. Aaron is my savior. For years I was having seizures, panic attacks, tachycardia, stomach problems of all sorts, mouth sores, brittle nails...you name it, i had it. I went to a neurologist...they came up with nothing. My primary care doctor had nothing. It was Aaron that saved me, rejuvinated my life when we discovered gluten was the cause of it all. He is just so pleasent and kind. You do have to wait in his office for extended periods of time, but that time waiting was always worth it; he spends time with his patients, period. He listened and joked with me. He gave me back my life.

I'll have to re-review after the full course is completed, but like with love, I feel like you know a good doctor when you see one!
Dr Aron went into a detailed line of questioning, ruled out my previous diagnosis from a previous doctor based on the evidence I gave me and actually ordered tests & checks rather than rush into a diagnosis like the other ones did. He tried to get to know me and actually treated me like a longterm patient rather than the usual 15 minute get in - get out you get at other offices.

I was scared was my first vist, and Doctor Aron put me at ease, he went through my history and took his time to find out details concerning what's going on with me. He is very sincere and you can tell he cares . he explained the next steps to take in my case and went over all my questions regarding the procedure. He's a good doctor and listens to you and I feel safe in his hands under his care.
I've read many other doctor reviews from a list given me by the ER dept . online and from my coverage group and I didn't think I was going to find a doctor and have to settle for one on the lists I had.
I'm glad the search engine pushed me out of my 50 mile range to find Dr Aron I am very pleased and hopeful to figure out what's going on in my case and find a solution. He's the light at the end of my tunnel with this .

After a year of a lot of pain, different doctors, tests and no results I went to see Dr. Jeffrey Aron. When I got to his office he came out to the waiting room and greeted me, he was very kind as he was very thorough, after a number of questions and after reading my history Dr Aron, explain how everything works in my system, I felt that somebody finally had understood my pain, I left his office very hopeful.
