There is no doubt in my mind that Dr. Gold is one of the best doctors for epi-lasik.
Not only is he an expert in his field, he genuinely cares for you and excels at making you feel safe.
As a bonus, both the surgery and post surgery I experienced little to no discomfort in my eyes.

Welcome! I am Dr. Jeffrey D. Gold, a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist with over 30 years of experience in eye medicine and surgery with special expertise in laser technology. I graduated from Kenyon College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1964. After receiving my medical degree from the University of Tennessee in 1968, I completed my ophthalmology residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. After practicing in the New Haven area for over 15 years as an Ophthalmologist, utilizing laser technology in treating eye disease since the early 1980's, I relocated to Salt Lake City, UT in 1991 where I perfected my Laser Vision Correction techniques. Soon after FDA approval of the Excimer Laser in 1995 I began performing laser vision correction in one of the first two laser centers in the United States to offer the procedure. I worked in Salt Lake City from 1991 to 1997 and trained in laser vision correction between 1995 and 1997 under the direction of two of the leaders in the field. Subsequently I completed three Mini-Fellowships in Refractive Surgery and by mid 2015, I have performed over 11,000 successful laser vision correction procedures, including operating on my wife, my daughter, both of my brothers and other family members. I have performed over 10,000 LASIK procedures, but for the past three or four years I have completely abandoned LASIK in favor of the inherently safer epi-LASIK procedure, which does not involve any cutting of the cornea. Cutting a flap in the cornea weakens it and it has been proven that the flap never completely heals, making those patients vulnerable foreve to dislocation of the flap with even a minor blow to the eye. Epi-LASIK affords the patient a procedure that is safer both at the time of surgery and forever after.
