I believe that as a physician, I am an educator. The most important way for me to help patients is to use my expertise to provide them with the appropriate information and guidance to make the best personal decisions for their treatment.
Why I Entered Medicine
My humorous, short, but truthful answer to the question of why I chose this profession is that I did it because someone told me that I couldn’t. The longer answer is that health and science were always my favorite subjects in school, and I spent a lot of my time at my doctor’s office growing up. Over time it became clear that I like to “fix” things and make people feel better. So a major in Pre-medicine with a minor in Psychology seemed to be a perfect fit. Family medicine, in particular, is the ultimate position for me to use all of my strengths and interests to help people feel better – science, education, humanity and compassion.
Personal Interests
I have a teenage daughter, two dogs, two cats and two guinea pigs. Most of my spare time is spent making sure they are all taken care of. I am happiest outdoors, so when the weather cooperates, I will be found swimming, doing yard work, playing golf, or tennis. If I am lucky enough to have time to get away, you will find me traveling to anywhere warm.
