Melissa Bauman, CRNP

Family Nurse Practitioner
6649 Chrisphalt Dr, Ste 103, Bath, PA
Philosophy of care I believe in shared decision-making, where both the patient and provider play an active role. I like to treat my patients as I'd expect myself or my family to be treated. It's our job as providers to educate and help people make decisions that best fit their lives. Why I entered medicine I've been an intensive care unit nurse for most of my career, and it's clear to me that we need to catch and address health issues before people get sick. Health promotion and prevention are so important because they're much more effective than only caring for people once they've developed an illness or condition. Family practice is a great venue for that. It allows us to get to know patients from a holistic point of view and helps us develop the best plans for them. Education and training I earned my Master's in Family Nursing from Misericordia University. I hold a Bachelor's degree from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, and Associate degrees from Suffolk County Community College and State University of New York, Nassau Community College. Community involvement I am involved in my community through my children. I am active in booster clubs for all of their sports and volunteer with our local Boy Scout troop, which is engaged in community service. Personal interests Most of my personal time is devoted to my kids, but I also enjoy staying active through jogging and hiking.
