Dr. Joel Abramowitz received his medical degree from Universidad Autonoma De Medicina and completed his post graduate education at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Abramowitz complete his urology residency the University of Illinois and is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He is affiliated with Christ Hospital, Palisade General Hospital, and Hoboken University Medical Center and Holy Name Hospital. Along with his many years of practicing, Dr. Abramowitz holds many other accomplishments in the field of medicine. He has participated in many published research articles and papers dealing with topics that contribute to the improvement of urological practices such as safety and efficiency of treatments of urinary tract infections in hospital settings, identification of removal of a fungus ball from the renal pelvis, alternative surgeries for high-risk patients with bladder outlet obstruction, and many more. Dr. Abramowitz has also been the recipient of the Physician’s Recognition Award in 1982 and 1986, as well as the first prize award from the Chicago Urological Society at the Irving J. Shapiro X-Ray Conference in 1983.
