Dr. Gunn provides medical and surgical treatment for patients with disorders affecting the retina and vitreous such as age-related macular degeneration, macular hole, macular pucker, retinal detachment and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Gunn graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science degree. He then attended The University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis earned the degree of Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Gunn completed a one year medical Internship at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, TN. He then returned to the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center to complete a three-year residency in Ophthalmology. Dr. Gunn completed 2 years of sub-specialty Fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Surgery at the Foundation for Retinal Research in New Orleans, LA. in 2003. Dr. Gunn is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists. Dr. Gunn has an interest in the ocular complications associated with sleep apnea and he is keen to perform research to help prevent the loss of circulation associated with diabetes and other retinal vascular disorders.
