I was in and out quickly. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I actually saw not just the doctor but an excellent assistant as well. While I walked in dreading another doctor who wanted to feed me pills instead of talking with me about lifestyle changes I walked out confident that I am moving in the right direction with my health.

Dr. Jonathan Alvior is a primary care physician who is board certified in Internal Medicine. He is a former hospitalist who now practices in the outpatient as well as inpatient setting, following his patients when admitted at the hospital. He completed his residency training at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Harlem Hospital Center in New York, New York in 2007 and has been in private practice since then. He received his medical degree from the University of the East RMMC in Quezon City, Philippines and holds a degree in B.S. Public Health from the University of the Philippines. Dr Alvior is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), American College of Physicians, ?Hillsborough County Medical Association, Philippine Medical Society of Florida (PMS) Gulf Coast Chapter and is the President and Founder of the Philippine-American Sports Association (PASA) of Tampa Bay. Dr. Alvior currently holds privileges at Florida Hospital Tampa & Carrollwood (formerly known as University Community Hospital), St. Joseph's Hospital Main & North and Tampa General Hospital.

Wait time was average and their availability is pretty good considering they are open late on Wednesdays (till 7 PM).
Dr. Alvior's beside manner was average. I visited three times and I got about 15 minutes of face time each visit.
What earned Alvior's practice two stars is his horrendous support staff. Every time I spoke to or joked with an aid or admin person they stared blankly at me. I'm no longer using Dr. Alvior as my primary because my latest bill was sent to collections due to them not having an up to date address (never received a single call or E-mail about the balance).
When I spoke to the office manager and persistently asked why I never received a call and that someone should have called me to alert me to the problem she ultimately said "I'll keep that in mind".

The waiting time was longer than usual. But I believe it is because he is very thorough on his explanation. He is very knowledge able and he takes his time with you not like other doctors that rush you out the door so they can see their next patient.

This was my first visit, so it was a fairly long one (especially since I have not been to a primary care physician in years). All of the staff were courteous, knowledgeable, and willing to explain anything in detail. Dr. Alvior himself was responsive to my concerns and was good at narrowing those down to the things I should really be concerned about (and explaining which things were to early to tell without proper lab-work).
