Jose has been the best Psychiatrist I have seen to date. He is very down to earth and easy to talk to. The way he explains things is great, I feel like I already have a better understanding of what I’m going through after a short time with him vs the years I have been with other Psychiatrists.

Horrible and the absolute worse nurse practitioner I have ever seen. Reconsider having this person as your provider because he lives on a high horse, is irresponsive to your questions and enquiries about your medical health, extremely unprofessional in the way they communicate and talk to patients. I would give zero stars if I could

He patiently explained every aspect of my condition and treatment options in a way that was clear, concise, and easily understandable. For the first time, I felt like I had a comprehensive understanding of my mental health and the path forward. He approached our conversation with empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to help. His ability to connect on a personal level made me feel valued, respected, and truly seen.

Jose brings enthusiasm, warmth, clarity, and support to his practice every day. He is quick to reply to an inquiry, collaborative in terms of addressing challenges, joyful and curious. My son was resistant to therapy and I watched Jose meet this resistance with acceptance, respect, and love. I can hear my son laughing in his sessions and when he comes skipping out of the room and Jose gives me a private thumbs up, it feels like the best gift in the world. I searched for years to find a provider who could help encourage my son to feel safe sharing the spectrum of his feelings as in the past he has been reluctant to share his challenges with anyone except me. This caused some explosive moments at home as I was often his only outlet. His school finally recommended Jose with their highest accolades for the progress they saw in the kids he worked with. The school psychologist said she has overheard kids say: you get to go to Jose today!? I'm going tomorrow! Whole-hearted recommendation.

Mr. Ruiz responded right away. I was in such a dark place, and he helped and guided me. He is an excellent listener and an even better psychiatrist.
I wouldn't change him for another one.

Visits have been virtual only due to my own circumstances; there has been flexbility in scheduling as well. Jose has been consistently focused, empathic and engaged. The sessions have been helpful exchanges and he has suggested practical steps and encouragement throughout.
