I guess my experience differs from that of the other reviewers. I had gone to Dr. Tarantolo with the goal of being re-started on my psychiatric medications; since he is a psychiatrist, this didn't seem to me absurd. Something about this bothered him though. He is openly anti-medication, which would be fine as a viewpoint, but he was loud, bullying, implied that I had been drugged my entire life, that my medications weren't helping me anyway, and that there is something morally superior about being depressed. I began halfway through the session to feel myself in the presence of a crazy person, at least someone seriously unhinged. His vehemence against antidepressants really took me aback, for someone reportedly trained in the field. He also tried to sell me on group therapy, saying I would be an ideal candidate for it, despite knowing me for circa 15 minutes, and when I posed some objections (have tried it, didn't like it, have a public profile job) he accused me of dodging things that were hard for me, claimed that I had a problem opening up. Also, there are a large number of supplements on display in the waiting room (which we did not discuss, so I'm not sure if he is selling homeopathics too, but wouldn't surprise me). The whole experience was honestly a little surreal. I won't be back.

My visits with Dr. Tarantolo have been successful since I first started seeing him. My weight mental health and happiness have all improved. I am on a long road but Dr. T has made it less challenging. He even helped me stop taking ~ 5 Rx (about 25 pills a day)
