Dr. Joy Zhou (pronounced as "Joe") enjoys the whole range of general Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was trained as a physician in China and repeated her training in the U.S., completing her residency at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is Board Certified with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a skillful surgeon and uses the latest technology in Gynecology. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
Dr. Zhou has been practicing in Bay area since 2006. She was recognized as one the top 100 physicians in the Bay Area. Besides having delivered thousands of babies during her career, she is also an expert in abdominal, laparoscopic, hysteroscopic, and vaginal surgeries, such as removal of uterus or uterine fibroids, all modes of endometrial ablation, removal of abnormalities of the ovaries or fallopian tubes. Dr. Zhou is one of a few gynecologists in Peninsula Hospital who has privilege in robotic surgery, a form of advanced minimally invasive surgery.
