About Dr. Dorothy Shoup
Growing up, both my father and sister had many health issues. My sister had OB/GYN problems, including fibroids, and her physician became a really good friend. I loved his profession and naturally gravitated toward it, wanting to contribute to women's health care.
I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Case Western Reserve University and completed my residency at MetroHealth System. I love my profession because it allows me to form long-term relationships with patients by providing both primary and specialty care. Babies I delivered 16 or more years ago are now my patients, along with their mothers and sometimes grandmothers. It is rewarding and fulfilling to care for people throughout their lives.
Everyone is an individual, which is why I believe in personalized care. I work with women to find what works best for them in terms of improving their well-being and fostering long-term health. I feel fortunate to be a physician and to be involved in my patients' lives.
