Dr. Kocher attended the University of Illinois in Chicago, where she earned her medical degree. She then completed her residency in general psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill. She finished an additional fellowship in addiction psychiatry at Northwestern University in Chicago. She also holds a bachelor’s from the University of Illinois in Urbana.
Dr. Kocher is certified in psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She was the medical director and founder of Adolescent Outpatient Program at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare. She is one of the board directors at Primo Center for Women and Children in Chicago. She was recognized as the Literary Excellence Scholar by the Cook County Physicians’ Association in 1989.
