Dr. Venkat was great. Quick visit and he was very professional and helpful. He was able to refer me to a specialist and be seen right away.
His office referred me to a specialist that did not take my insurance. additionally, the doctor said he wanted to take a blood sample to establish a baseline, which I know is routine, it seemed unnecessary for my health issue. Also instead of taking my pulse and temperature, he just wrote them in on the form.
In and out pretty hastily
great, easy, fast
I was a new patient and was seen right away. Dr. Kaliyur Venkat was friendly and answered all of my questions.
Doctor could tend to be a little more friendlier, especially to return patients. Bedside manner is very cold.
Did not get a personal feel from the doctor. Just robotic questions and seemed rushed. Even though the waitingiting room was empty.
He was fast and great!
This is the worst doctor visit I ever had. I went in for immigration testing. The initial visit was okay and quick, but when I came at the scheduled time to pick up my result, I was told Dr. Venkat was not in the office and I had to wait for over 2 hours for him to come during holiday time. However, this was not it. I was told to give my health insurance information at the time of appointment even though this is not an insurance covered expense and I paid out of pocket all the fees. Then after 4 months of my appointment, I received a bill from a blood lab asking me for unpaid charges for blood test. In the bill, it also showed that my insurance also got charge for blood test done on my behalf. I called the lab and asked what happened. They told me, Dr. Venkat office submitted my blood test not as an immigration test which required only 4 items to be checked but as a full-blown regular blood test with over 10 items checked. I called Dr. Venkat office and they said they would take care of this. However, in March, I got a reminder from the lab that the charge was still pending. I had to contact Dr. Venkat office again to try to get this resolved. This is still an ongoing issue which I have no idea what happened.
I would rate Dr. Venkat as one of the best doctors in downtown NYC
When i walked in i said good morning and the ladies at the front desk didnt answer. But the other young lady was very friendly and kind, she came right away and helped me. I think she was the doctors assistant. I didnt wait long. Dr. Venkat was friendly and professional.
His examinations are very thorough!
Literally no wait time! I was in an out. Loving it.
The Doctor didnt even introduce hisself. He was very cold and unapproachable! health is such a personal thing and he didnt try to make me feel comfortable at all!
Friendly and personable. Quick and easy visit. Came in for strep test -- they do not have a quick test machine, had to send to a lab.
It was a great visit Dr. Venkat is very knowledgeable and outgoing as I changed Drs. for the first time in 2 years. I look forward to seeing him again.
I have been visiting Dr. Venkat for years now and am pleased as always. This is the first time using ZocDoc, and it worked out perfectly in setting up the appointment.
Dr. Venkat was direct, but polite and knowledgable. He was confident in his suggestions and was able to recommend a relevant specialist for my needs.
I went there for my second annual physical/wellness exam. It was very quick. Questions. Urine, Blood Sample,Checking blood pressure, heart rate, etc and I was out of there.
Very professional and informative. I would highly recommend this doctor to anyone in need of a neurologist.
Great gentile doctor!
He is disrespectful. And mean! It's like a fake office .. He is probably collecting insurance money! After I get my results! I'm never going back there again!! And I don't recommend anyone going there!
In and out! Not bad.
When I arrive the facility, I wasn't especially welcomed. After waiting for 25min, I went came to the counter, and then finally asked me the regular questions. After my consultation, it seems like they switched, because they became extremely nice, so it ended it up great. Don't sty on your first impression because everybody can have a low moment/mood. About the doctor, I think he was very professional. No chitchat, no BS, but this is question of personal matter. I really appreciated that he did all the exams himself, as a real doctor should do, you know the traditional way. I have another appointment scheduled in a week, ad if everything goes well, Dc Venkat will definitely be my general doctor.
Very professional and to the point!
Good doctor, polite staff, clean place, and they kept my record from years ago!
He didn't clean his hands with hand sanitizer or put gloves on before taking blood (after writing with a pen at his desk) and I was thoroughly disturbed. I regret not putting a stop to it all. I'm not even sure why he took blood, given that I came in with Traveler's Diarrhea. And everyone I know that has ever had TD just received a prescription, no blood test necessary.
Quick appointment very helpful!
Great doctor who genuinely cares for his patients. His staff is excellent. I highly recommend!
Most important, the Doctor was available at the appointed time and was very professional
No issues. I was seen quickly. The doctor had a good bedside manner and knows his stuff.
very professional - complete - makes sure your care is in line with best practices
The doctor doesn't waste your time and listens to what you have to say. Highly recommended.
Good doctor but come prepared w/ questions
Shocked this guy had such solid ratings. He was miserable in my initial visit. Wouldn't speak to me at all... wound up ordering several tests I didn't request (costing far too much). Based on this experience, I'll be very skeptical of ZocDoc ratings going forward.
Very quick visit, loved that he took care of me right away. Good bedside manner, I would recommend him.
Very efficient and good as a general doc for quick checkup or physical
At the time of the appointment, Dr Venkat was stuck in traffic and arrived 35 minutes late. Additionally, the appointment time was double booked resulting in more waiting. He was cold and refused to call me with the results, forcing me to pay another office visit fee.
I never get right in on time for my appts. Im always waiting at least 30 mins. One time he was late and saw me waiting there and said he needed to eat his lunch. I was shocked. He made me wait even longer while he ate. I had an appt one time and instead of calling to tell me he was leaving the office so i could re schedule he had the door man tell me he was leaving and not saying when he would be back. He left me waiting in the office for an HOUR!!!!! Takes phone calls while you are with him. For example i was talking to him during MY appointment and he picked up and was talking to a patient about their STD. He just wants to get you out of the office. The reception is wonderful but the dr is not.
I have seen many doctors. But this had to my worst experience seeing a doctor. I was promised that I would get a call from the doctor to discuss my results. After one month, i had to reach out to the doctor to discuss. He did not even had the courtesy to call and discuss my results. On top of this, when I finally got in touch with after a month, he told me he doesn't discuss results on the phone. He wouldn't even tell me if everything was ok or not. Absolutely riduculous, both him and his assistant Darina are downright rude. I would not recommend anyone going and wasting their time to go see them. On top of this, he did a bunch of tests that I was even told prior and I just got my bill from my insurance company.
Excellent bedside manner. Quite chatty, and very professional. Always on time.
Seen quickly. Clear and concise explanation of diagnosis. In and out!
I've trusted Dr Venkat for 2 years now. He'll remain my PCP.
Receptionist was excellent, great customer service. Doctor was a good listener, efficient, and to the point. Wait was about 15 mins, and the receptionist gave me frequent updates. No complaints!
I have been seeing dr venkat for past 3 years- very thorough and efficient- makes sure you have all annual exams set up- such as EKG - x rays- leaves nothing out - very personable - office staff is wonderful as well
My visit was very useful.
Was in and out of the office in 1 hour. The doctor spent time explaining why he was giving me the medication and what the cause was. Highly recommend Dr. Venkat
Receptionist didn't say a word when I walked in... The doctor was on a personal call for 15 minutes (on speaker phone)... Doctor didn't introduce himself, very impersonal, was in and out in less than 5 minutes which I guess was nice...
he was nice for what I needed - which was a quick prescription. wouldn't want him to be my full-time doctor though.
He was a tad condescending. Overall it was fine.
Overall my experience was good. Came in for a swollen tonsil and throat ache. Was seen almost immediately. Doctor was courteous and polite. Staff was great as well. Was seen immediately, but seemed rushed. Took a quick look, said the lymph nodes look swollen. Gave me antiobiotics and sent me on my way
THE DOCTOR WAS GOOD, BUT I DID NOT LIKE THE RECEPTION STAFF AS THEY DID NOT ADDRESS ME WHEN I WALKED IN AND THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME A CO-PAY EVEN THOUGH MY INSURANCE COVERED 100% OF THE VISIT. IN ADDITION, THE DOCTOR WAS ON THE PHONE DURING MY VISIT AND WHILE EXAMINING ME AND HE DID NOT WEAR GLOVES WHEN DRAWING MY BLOOD.
Dr. Venkat was nice and helpful. I went in for a routine physical and was in and out in less than 25 minutes, very efficient. I personally would have liked a little more banter, but as far as medical services go, no complaints at all.
I've been seeing Dr. Venkat for years now and very happy with him as my primary doctor.
Very professional, friendly and efficient.
Booked my appt late the night before and was able to be seen in the morning. About a 35min wait but the appt was quick and thorough. I'd go back for something minor but not as a primary doctor.
Great person, very professional. In one visit he was able to diagnose me properly meanwhile I had been going to various specialts for 2 years and no one was helping me. He really knows what he is doing and there is no long wait times.
I went to Dr Venkat for my annual Health checkup and after seeing him, I am actually surprised at the positive reviews that Dr Venkat has received. To put things mildly, he is absolutely one of the worst doctors I have ever seen. Sample this! 1. I wasn't told prior to my first appointment that I had to fast for at least 9-12 hours for my blood testing. So when the report of my first blood test comes out, Mr. Venkat asks me to repeat the test saying that this wasn't with empty stomach. 2. I had to get my Echo done - I went all the way to his downtown office but till date (after 2-3 months), I haven't got my reports. Mr Venkat never told me if there were any issues or if everything was OK. All I was told that he would call me to discuss the report - obviously, the call never came. 3. Mr Venkat doesn't know how to read a Blood Test report - there were a few things in the report which he couldn't understand. I saw him actually googling that item on his computer to understand what it actually meant. In short, I wasted my time and money in my Annual examination with him. As of today, I don't know whether I am 100% healthy or do I need to take some preventive steps. To me, Mr Venkat exemplifies what is wrong with our Healthcare system - a less than average service with super high costs (which is obviously charged to an Insurance Company).
Dr. Venkat was quick, thorough and professional. His office is in a B-grade building, but once you're in, it's fine. He's got a very streamlined approach to care. He took blood from me himself and put it right into the centrifuge in the room - no waiting time or phlebotomist. I'll see him again for the follow-up in a week, and I suspect I'll be happy again.
Knows what he's doing, very straight to the point and knowledgeable. Appointment started right on time, no waiting around. Will be using again in the future.
Really listens to what my ailment is and approaches solution with common sense.
Was quick and to the point. Listened to my concerns and answered my questions.
Was really quick and thorough.
Very professional. Quick and to the point. If you're looking for someone to coddle you, he's not the guy. But he will do a good job and you'll be out of there quickly.
Overall, the visit was amazing despite the long, long wait time. Dr. Venkat was very receptive of what I was telling him and even had a colleague of his (a gastroenterologist) see me right after him as my issues was not directly in his wheelhouse. I feel if i had an earlier appointment (<10AM) I would have been in and out. Really great!
Prescribed me a vaccination without asking if I actually wanted it.
This was one of the best doctors visit I had in a long time. I plan to make Dr. Venkat my PCP. Excellent service. He quickly understood my issue. He was very precise and up to the point. I would highly recommend him!
I came midday, the waiting room was full, and I waited 40 minutes. I've also come for the first appointment of the day, and I was seen within 20 minutes.
Seeing doctor Venkat was a great experience. He is very quick and to the point. If you need more time, he takes the time to explain everything. Very excited to have found a reliable and affordable doctor in the financial district!
this is not my first visit- I have been seeing dr Venkat for almost two years now- the best thing about him is he understands your time- especially if you are coming during lunch or before work is precious - he makes good use of the time- if its for prescription refill- he asks the right questions - knows your history - and done - annuals- everything is quickly done but thoroughly - issues - he listens and prescribes appropriate treatment
I was suffering from a prolonged migraine and he insisted it was a sinus infection. Prescribed me a zpack and barbituates. He also did a blood lab and instead of sending it in with my details (25 year old female), he sent it in to be tested as a 36 year old male.
The doctor was excellent. Made me feel comfortable. Paperwork was not tedious at all.
Very smart, very fast.
Felt very rushed, left confused and with questions, not even sure what the blood work wAs for. Very rushed- he saw me for fifteen minutes for a complete physical
Very friendly and professional.
Very professional, always explains his choices. I would recommend to anyone looking for a general physician.
Very perfessional. Felt very comfortable.
Dr Venkat is extremely professional- He understands his patients' time is just as important as his. He is thorough- listens to you- recommends follows guidelines on what procedures are needed- but doesn't waste time on the unnecessary
I had to wait awhile, but when I got to see him he was thorough and quick. I'll go back.
Very nice and direct to the point. Also saw me within 15 of my scheduled appt time.
Dr. Venkat went above and beyond for my slightly unusual medical case.
Great first appointment in a friendly office setting.
he's the man. He's very, very fast, and tells you everything you need.
On this and another visit, doctor arrived late (I had first appointment in the morning). On my second visit, a follow up, when doctor brought me in to his office, he asked me why I had come in -- if he had looked first at the chart which he had in his hand he would have known it was a follow up. Additionally, doctor read my blood test results as inconclusive, blaming it on the lab and suggesting we retest. When I then went to another doctor (one I had seen years earlier and trusted), that doctor was able to explain the results.
Dr. Venkat was pleasant, personable and very direct in a good way. The office was comfortable and paperwork was minimal. I was greeted right when I walked in and did not have to wait long for the doctor.
Dr. Venkat's staff was very quick and attentive. Dr. Venkat was also quick, but less attentive. Before proceeding with the consultation and examination, he placed a call to an assistant to discuss another patient's case. After that call was over, he contined with the examination. All in all, it was a fine visit, but I am looking for a different general care doctor after this experience.
Proffesional no-nonsense doctor that will always make time for you when u need him !
Dr. Venkat is extremely professional- takes an interest in his patients- makes sure of followups - advises on what needs to be done next - but understands a patient's time is just as valuable as his- Office staff is wonderful
Efficient, professional and convenient.
Dr. Venkat is wonderful!
Dr. Venkat was great and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to speak with me and made sure I was comfortable the whole time.
Excellent doctor- terriffic manner- office staff very pleasant and efficient- Understands people are busy- but still reviews your history thoroughly
I wasn't impressed with the service offered at his clinic. The doctor didn't discuss all the matters in detail and there was no pre-appointment call to inform me of the requirements for the blood test and no follow up.
Great bedside manner, professional. Uses a computer to back up what he's telling you. I would certainly go back.
He wasn't incredibly friendly and I had to wait a little while but what he lacked in those areas were made up for in his treatments of my problems. He wasn't afraid to prescribe anything I needed and gave me sound advice on how to handle things on my own. I will probably continue seeing him.
He is very professional and he takes time to listen.
Excellent doctor. Gives good common sense advice.
Dr. Venkat was very nice and had great bedside manner. The appointment was efficient. I suppose I would have wanted the appointment to feel thorough, though I'm in good health, so there really wasn't all that much to check. I would recommend Dr. Venkat.
Didn't say much, professional, focused.
He was very efficient and knowledgeable, and inspired great confidence.
Efficient, knowledgeable and respectful.
Dr. Venkat saw me as soon as my paperwork was done, and I had even arrived an hour earlier to my appointment. His bedside manner was brief and to-the-point, but in a very professional manner. This was only my first visit with him, but I am glad to have found him through ZocDoc, and look forward to having him as my PCP. He answered all of my questions, and thoroughly checked my health in this general consultation.
