I had an issue with my Lower back and booked an appointment with Dr. Stidham through zocdoc. Dr. stidham was very apologetic that he couldn't help with my back as he treats patients with knee and shoulder problems. Zocdoc showed his name when I searched for orthopeadics who treat spine so it was clear misunderstanding. Since I was already there , he suggested a few spine specialists that I could go and referred me to them. He also waived my consultation fee as it wasn't anyone's fault. He is very kind , caring and compassionate doctor.even though he couldn't treat me he still was very helpful and I can only imagine how he would be with his patients. I would definitely recommend him to anyone with knee or shoulder problems.

Dr. Stidham is very knowledgeable of sports related injuries and cares for your well being. I saw him after a basketball injury and he quickly recommended X-rays and a MRI after I described to him about the nature of the injury. When the MRI results came back showing an abnormality, he recommended me to get checked with a well known specialist in UCSF. He cares, because he asked me to check back with him in a couple of weeks after I get my injury diagnosed. What a great doc! Thanks!!!

I asked him specifics about what to do for my problem, for every question he said "it's upto you", "whatever you prefer", etc. He just gave me some possible options on what can be done to fix my problem, but left it on me to decide. I didn't gain anything out of my visit.

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Stidham. Here's my reason.
The doctor is okay and he did his diagnostic right away .. blah blah .. Infact, for the first appointment they were so diligent in calling me and making sure that I come and visit them.
After I saw the doctor, he recommended an MRI. Again, since its an MRI they were diligent.
But once all the tests were done, I am trying to book an appointment - since 1 week. They do not pick up the phone, the operator redirects you to some number which hangs up your phone - It's like now that all the tests are done, I am of no interest to them. WOWWWWW!!
I don't think I would recommend this doctor to anyone.

Its great to have a doctor that actually cares about your well being. A genuine guy who sees his patients as people rather then a means. His staff accommodated me even with his busy schedule and got me in to see the Dr. as soon as time was available (very helpful communication)
Dr. Stidham helped me understand my ankle injury with great detail so I was better able to take appropriate actions. He walked me through the all steps and things I could do to naturally heal myself. Its good to know I have a doctor who does whats best for me.
I highly recommend Dr Stidham.

Dr Kalle Stidham and his colleagues were prompt, friendly and professional. I got an appointment the very next day, was seen right away, they found a slot for me to do further testing for my knee right away. Everything was fast and efficient.
But most of all the most pleasant thing was the friendly, yet non invasive atmosphere.

ZocDoc is a great concept but it needs some technical refinement. When my hip pain that I'd ignored for far too long became unbearable in the middle of the night on a weekend, I made an appointment to see Dr. Stidham 1st thing Monday morning through the ZocDoc website. ZocDoc confirmed the date and time with me at least 3 times before my appointment. Yet, when I arrived for my appointment the receptionist told me my appointment wasn't until 3 days later. But I definitely made the appointment for the day and time I was there (I have the email confirmations to prove it.) Here is where Dr. Stidham and his staff started to shine.
The receptionist said she would see what she could do and had me take a seat. Less than 3 minutes later, Dr. Stidham's assistant called my name and ushered me to an exam room. So, not only did I get to see the Dr. when they didn't have me down for an appointment, but I didn't even have to wait long! Now, I know what you're thinking: Big deal, he took a walk-in, doctors do that all the time. Right? I get it. And if that was the only notable occurrence during my visit perhaps it wouldn't warrant this review. But wait, there's more.
I could tell the doctor had a full schedule because the reception area was pretty full and any staff-member I saw was moving with a purpose. When Dr. Stidham walked in he got right to work, but was in no way rushing through the exam. After talking to me to get an idea of what was going on with my hip, he manipulated my leg while I gave him feedback about my pain. He only needed a few seconds to tell me what he thought was the source of my pain. Now, everyone knows doctors' diagnoses are usually, if not always, educated guesses. But what I really appreciated about Dr. Stidham was, although he was very confident in the diagnosis, he was quick to say the diagnosis may be wrong. He had me get an x-ray (from the awesome, super-nice x-ray technician down the hall) which confirmed his diagnosis. But he took it a step further and ordered an MRI to make sure he wasn't missing anything. He went over what my treatment options were and explained what to expect with the different treatments. All the while he made sure to answer all my questions.
To sum it all up Dr. Stidham is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, systematic, and professional. What more can you ask for?

DO NOT GO TO HIM. Extremely uncomfortable experience - he is unprofessional. Asked if I would prefer that he get a gown or not when he asked me to take my clothes off, and then proceeded to make unsolicited flirtatious comments throughout my examination.
