I specialize in treating adults with anxiety, OCD, panic, phobias, and trauma as well as couples facing difficulties in their relationships. My approach to treatment is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT)—all of which use behavioral, emotion-focused, and cognitive methods. I work in a private group psychology practice in downtown Manhattan and am available to see clients in-person and virtually.
I am a firm believer that the only way out of our distress is to work our way through it. I guide my patients out of their existing “comfort zones” to find new, more adaptive and more fulfilling comfort zones. Together we will identify patterns of unhelpful thinking and behavior that are no longer working and experiment with ways to break those patterns.
I place a strong emphasis on gaining acceptance and tolerance of the things we don’t have control over. I also incorporate skills training to expand patients’ emotional vocabulary, emotion regulation skills, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. I look forward to hearing from you to see how we might work together.
