They were the friendlist people from the second you walk in. It was a very thorough exam and cleaning, and I will definitely be keeping this place as my dental office. I saw Dr. G (?) though, not Karl Smith, but I am sure given how everyone else was wonderful, he is equally as great.

The doctor saw me promptly, took additional xrays, and through a referal got me immediately in for a root canal procedure at a nearby facility. Dr Smith was vey kind and accomodating to my needs. I would highly recommend him. His staff even called the next day to check in.

Dr. Karl Smith has been in dental practice for over thirty years. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1981 and immediately entered General Practice in the US Air Force Dental Corps. He successfully completed three additional years of advanced training in the specialty of Periodontics, Dental Anesthesia and Implants in 1992 at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio and Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center.
Dr. Smith retired from the US Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel after four years of reserve and fifteen years of meritorious world-wide active duty service in 1996. He worked in a variety of group practice locations throughout Southern Maryland and Northern Virginia before announcing the opening of his own periodontal office in the City of Alexandria, Virginia in January of 2002. After opening his Northern Virginia office, Dr. Karl Smith missed working with the patients and dentists in Southern Maryland and decided to open an office in Waldorf in the spring of 2005.
Dr. Smith's colleagues describe him as a gentle, easy-going person, and people come from near and far to experience the comfort and professionalism of his office and patient-oriented staff.
