About Dr. Sanaz Vahid
I am a compassionate and highly trained periodontist with an extensive background in implant dentistry. As a second-generation dentist, I earned my dental degree from the University of Maryland in 2014. After dental school, I continued my training at the University of Pittsburgh, obtaining a certification in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) in 2015. My passion for surgery, patient care and oral health ultimately led me to complete a three-year residency in periodontics and implant surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2018.
In addition to implant surgery, bone and gum grafting, sinus lifts, gum disease treatment and other traditional periodontal procedures, I am qualified to perform lip repositioning surgery, buccal fat pad removal and dimpleplasty. I am also one of only a handful of dentists in the D.C. Metropolitan Area trained in IV sedation to curb patient anxiety.
I am the founder and president of Women of the World of Dentistry, an organization that educates and empowers every woman in the field of dentistry, from assistant to dentist. Other professional affiliations include membership of the American Board of Periodontology, American Dental Association, D.C. Dental Society, Maimonides Dental Society and Alpha Omega Dental Society. I have also authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, including studies on the relationship between polycystic ovary syndrome and periodontal disease, and sleep apnea and periodontal disease.
As a D.C. native, I am honored to serve the community I will forever call home. Outside of work, I love to travel and spend time with loved ones.

Wasn't seen by the provider, and the hours listed aren't hours she works there (she doesn't even work in that office and only works in their DC office 1 day/wk). She had a 5 star rating and appointments available every day, but that's not who I saw. Who I saw was decent (4 teeth extracted) but it was a bait and switch & they have a lot of dentists on Zocdoc but only saw 1 in the office but all had all hours listed. Decent but not special, but the bait and switch was unforgivable.

The appt was rescheduled by the office, No big deal. This is common when booking through ZocDoc. I was sent a text with documents to fill out for the office. Called the office 7/17 to confirm my 7/18 appt bc I had not received anything confirming it, confirmed and they saw my documents were on file. Show up on 7/18 for my appt and I’m not in the system for my appt. Confirmed the address and the phone number from the text. After waiting sometime I left, I didn’t want to get squeezed in and rushed through.
