Dr. Katia Castillo is a graduate of the Mercer University School of Medicine. She did her postgraduate training at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, where, as OB/GYN Chief Resident, she first met Dr. Jacqueline Walters. In 1998 they formed Castillo Walters, an OB/GYN practice based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Says Dr. Castillo, "Jacqueline and I have traveled different roads to become doctors, but we yet shared at least one experience as a woman."
Dr. Castillo, who was born in Cartagena, Columbia, adds, "Uncomfortable gynecological exams are a worldwide phenomenon. I totally understood Jacqueline's concerns and shared her desire for a 'patient-focused practice' rather than a 'physician-focused' one."

I remember having a consultation with her and I had a Pap, and all I remember was she said I can finish getting dressed & I was thinking ok she will be back to tell me when to come again but she never came back to the room! I had to leave the room & asked one of the nurse if Dr Castillo was done with me, so the nurse came back to me when I went back to the room & said the Dr said that your done now. Well the Dr could have been professional and said ok you are finished, go ahead and make an appointment! Well that was the last visit for me!

I really appreciated my visit with Dr. Castillo. However, her office staff have since scheduled appointments for me, without calling me to ask if time or date is good for me, for procedures I never confirmed wanting. It's been extremely off-putting.

Really awkward and confused throughout the whole process about the steps she was taking. Could have been more informative in explaining the procedures and steps she was taking, and could have told me when it was over instead of leaving me guessing. Very uncomfortable.

Dr. Castillo was wonderful! Her bedside manner was great and she took the time to answer questions. Her nurse was also terrific. Her reception staff was a little on the rude side, but not intolerably so.

I visited Dr. Castillo as a new patient and was surprised when I was admitte right away. I went on my lunch hour for a yearly exam and was back at work within the hour.
The office and exam rooms were very nice and everyone was very friendly. Dr. Castillo herself was very pleasant and friendly. I will definitely be changing over to her from my old doctor.
