She returned to New York for an accelerated 7 year program combining college with medical school (including a double major in Spanish) at Union College and Albany Medical College. In 2000, she returned to Dallas for her residency at Parkland Hospital / U.T. Southwestern. She joined the practice in 2004, and lives with her husband Christopher and her daughters Asha and Anjali.
