He is very nice and listens to your problems. The wait time is terrible, I waited more than one hour to be seen. The staff is okay but some of them aren’t professional enough and lack respect to deal with customers, one of them hanged up on me while I was talking to her.

Dr. Makipour earned his medical education from the Eastern Virginia Medical School. He then began his postdoctoral training with an internal medicine internship at the Temple University Hospital. While at the Temple University Hospital, Dr. Makipour completed his internal medicine residency, fellowship in gastroenterology, and his fourth-year fellowship in advanced interventional endoscopy. He also served as a faculty member at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Makipour has extensive experience performing complex GI procedures. He performs many procedures and is an expert in colon cancer screening. Dr. Makipour has presented numerous abstracts at national meetings and has published several articles in prestigious gastroenterology journals. Dr. K Makipour has privileges at both Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center and INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

Dr. Makipour is the best. He is a great listener and truly interested in helping his patients, the way they feel they need to be helped. It was a struggle finding someone who wanted to talk with me rather than at me, prior to finding Dr. M.

Dr. Makipour is efficient, sensitive, accommodating, understanding, intelligent, and accessible even on short notice. He listened to me, was happy to prescribe treatment that I preferred (as opposed to over-prescribing the “big guns”), and kindly, accurately, and rapidly filled out forms I needed filled out. His office staff is friendly and kind, as well. At the risk of having him gain too many patients and becoming inaccessible, I honestly can’t recommend him enough. Give him a chance if you need a new GI doctor, he won’t disappoint.

Overall way better than I could have expected, considering less than ideal GI experiences in past. Can’t recommend this doctor enough.
