He received his medical degree from Samuel Merritt University, California College of Podiatric Medicine and completed three years of residency training in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at Coast Plaza Hospital. Additionally, he is certified in wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Dr. Asrat opened his private practice in 2011, where he treats adults and children for a wide range of foot and ankle issues. A few of these include hammertoes, nail problems, psoriasis, varicose veins, pediatric foot deformation, walking problems, and warts. He also performs worker’s compensation and disability evaluation. He is a member of the American Diabetic Wound Care and Geriatric Association, the Sports Medicine Club, and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Asrat is fluent in English, Amharic, and Tigrigna, and he is able to converse in basic Spanish and Italian.

I was so disappointed. Didn't speak English so it was difficult for me to communicate. The dr didn't even pay attention to my symptoms he just said it was shin splits. The pain is not even it my shin it was in my ankle, he disregarded the X-rays. Terrible experience
