Kris Geiger, MD, is a fellowship-trained pediatric sports medicine doctor who is board certified in pediatrics and sports medicine. She has been practicing pediatric sports medicine in Denver since 1997 and holds the honor of being the first pediatric sports medicine specialist in Denver.
A former soccer player, Dr. Geiger remains active in the athletic community. She is the team physician for various high schools in Denver and regularly lectures to physicians, coaches, sports trainers and parent groups about injury prevention, common sports injuries in kids and related topics. In 2002, Dr. Geiger was named a Top Doctor in Sports Medicine by 5280 Magazine.
Dr. Geiger earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Clinical Sciences Center in Madison, Wisconsin. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. She then went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric sports medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dr. Geiger is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Council on Sports Medicine and Fitness, a section of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.
When she’s not treating kids’ sports injuries, Dr. Geiger enjoys hiking, mountain biking, skiing and camping with her family.
