She is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and also holds a women's health nurse practitioner post-graduate certificate. In addition, she is an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant.
She is committed to delivering high quality, evidenced-based, patient-centered care that focuses on improving health outcomes and patient/family wellness by utilizing best practice standards. She believes in collaboration and shared decision-making with her patients to increase the quality of care and to facilitate healthcare empowerment.
Kristine’s advanced practice nursing experience includes providing full scope midwifery care in California’s Napa Valley, attending births at Kaiser Vallejo and Kasier Vacaville hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area and at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Kristine is an assistant professor at Frontier Nursing University, teaching and supporting nurse-midwife and nurse practitioner students as they become thoughtful patient-centered care providers who listen to and support women throughout all stages of life, enabling more families and communities to thrive.
About her philosophy of care, Kristine says:
As a midwife, I aim to ensure my patients feel heard, valued and empowered as a vital member of their health care team. I believe all women should have access to options for their choice of healthcare providers, birthing positions and infant feeding support.
Midwifery care encompasses being with women throughout all stages of their lives, from adolescence until after menopause, and nurse-midwives can care for women of all ages and through all stages of life. Whether it be helping families experience the birth they desire as they bring about new life, assisting women to reach their breast-feeding goals, or providing clinic services such as annual women’s health exams.
