About Dr. Laura Fitzpatrick
Dr. Laura Fitzpatrick is a board-certified dermatologist practicing general and medical dermatology. She sees adults and children for skin cancer screenings, acne, psoriasis, rosacea, atopic dermatitis, warts, and other conditions.
Dr. Fitzpatrick graduated magna cum laude from Princeton with an A.B. in English and creative nonfiction writing. She earned her M.D. from Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Fitzpatrick completed her internal medicine internship at The Mount Sinai Hospital and her dermatology residency at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where she served as Academic Chief Resident.
Dr. Fitzpatrick completed a melanoma research fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She has published numerous peer-reviewed medical articles and co-edited a first-edition textbook on rheumatology/dermatology overlap disorders. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, and the Dermatologic Society of Greater New York.
Prior to her medical career, Dr. Fitzpatrick spent two years as a writer and reporter on staff at TIME magazine, covering health, education, women’s issues and other topics. Her essays about medical training appear on Time.com and HuffPost, and her dermatologic history writing appears on Doximity, where she was an Author Fellow.
Before going into private practice, Dr. Fitzpatrick was an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. She was also the Director of the Program for Dermatoses in Pregnancy & Lactation, an interdisciplinary partnership with the Katz Institute for Women's Health.
Dr. Fitzpatrick is attuned to both the physical and emotional impact of skin disease and takes into account each patient’s lifestyle and preferences when creating a treatment regimen. She lives in Manhattan and enjoys going to the theater, playing tennis in Central Park, and spending time with her husband and two children.

Dr. Fitzpatrick does what a doctor is supposed to do; she treats the patient in front her. No one should ask for more or less. It is clear she knows her craft and treats my condition with respect for my concern. My condition is chronic and requires that I monitor myself. I've found her counsel helpful, easy to follow and worth the effort. No patient can ask for any more.

Seeing Dr. Fitzpatrick was a very pleasant experience. The doctor had a great bedside manner, and she was great at listening to my issues. I didn't feel rushed during our appointment even though it was only for thirty minutes.
What was key to our visit was the Dr. Fitzpatrick is very knowledgable about dermatology, and she is very good at breaking things down for everyday people. She was also great at telling me of the options / approaches I can consider for treatment of my condition.
I plan to see Dr. Fitzpatrick again in the future, and I would surely recommend her to other folks. She is a joy to be around.
