Dr. Demar was great! I would highly recommend him to anyone who is considering seeing a dermatologist. He was very knowledgeable and he took the time to answer all of my questions. His prescription has been working so far, and I am beyond thankful.

I was late and clerk was not happy about that, but she did agree to let me see the doctor, who was something like 2 hours late, but I couldn't complain-all things being equal. And he was so good, funny and knowledgeable and I liked his nurse too

Dr. Demar is a board certified dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon who has practiced on the Upper East Side of Manhattan for over thirty years. He treats both adults and children, frequently caring for multiple generations within a single family. He enjoys interacting with his patients and treats each one of them as an individual.
Dr. Demar also enjoys teaching and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University, participates actively in the training of dermatology residents and medical students at the New York- Presbyterian Hospital/ Columbia University Medical Center. He is also a member of the attending staff at Lenox Hill Hospital.
His clinical interests include the detection, treatment and prevention of skin cancers, the treatment of acne, and the treatment of childhood and adult atopic dermatitis (eczema). Dr. Demar is a skilled dermatologic surgeon. He is also experienced in the use of Botox, fillers, lasers for treatment of brown spots and “broken” blood vessels, and sclerotherapy for small superficial leg veins.

I like Dr. Demar and his staff a lot. I've seen him a couple of times and he gets straight to the point. I am a patient who requires a lot of empathy so there are some times I wish he be nicer or more patient with me but deep down, he is an excellent physician who ONLY has the best intentions and will work extremely diligently for his patients.

Convenient location, wait time was fast, Dr Demar was very professional and nice, he did a through checkup, took a suspicious mole for biopsy, thankfully it was benign, he called me with detailed explanation and gave recommendations what checkups I should do and what to do to minimize future risk. Would recommend.

Dr. Demar was incredibly helpful and explained the issues I was having very simply with a touch of humor. I appreciate that! Will def. make him my perm derm! The front desk + medical assistant were also very friendly. The only con was the wait but it was still less than an hour.

Dr. Leon Demar was a wonderful in all aspects. He and his staff fit me in despite my lateness due to horrific subway problems, and I imagine it meant that they had to stay late to do that. He saw me within 15 minutes despite my lateness and despite the short interval, he had already read and digested my medical information sheet and had learned that I was hard of hearing and had a chronic disease. He was kind, made me laugh at my embarrassment about having a large bump on my temple, and took the least invasive approach to addressing it. All of this made me very grateful to him and all of his staff. What a lucky find in a big city full of so many doctors.

Difficult to find a doctor who takes the time to listen to your chief concern and evaluate your properly. All the previous dermatologists I have been too rush me out or have me sit with a PA but Dr. Demar was great! He did a thorough exam and was very knowledgeable and really understood my concerns.
