Dr. Leonard Behr is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He graduated from medical school in 1967 in Johannesburg, South Africa, before going on to enlist in the South African armed forces. He later completed a general practice internship at Johannesburg General Hospital and Coronation Hospital in Johannesburg and residency training at Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. He came to the United States in 1977 and entered private practice.
Behr has been recognized for providing a medical home environment that promotes quality in care coordination and communication. His special interests include preventive medicine and the management of chronic health conditions in patients of all ages. Behr has been named to D Magazine’s Best Doctors for more than a decade and has also been selected by Texas Monthly as a Texas Super Doctor.

For the time period that I have not been seen by a doctor I was very surprised that Dr Behr prescribed medication without knowing me and without tests. For the fee I paid, I should have received more than a five minute consult, if you can call it that. Very disappointed and I will not be returning.

I'm usually a nervous wreck to go see any doctor, but visiting Dr. Behr's office was surprising pleasant. From check in and check out. I can't explain how seeing a happy, smiling, and welcoming check in team put me at ease about being in a doctor's office.
My favorite thing was how well the appointment time stayed on schedule. I looked around the busy waiting room and thought to myself "oh boy I'll be here awhile" and pulled out my book I brought just for the occasion. But to my surprise I didn't get past the first sentence before they called my name.
During my exam everything was explained to me from start to finish. I had been dreading my yearly check up for nothing. I highly recommend Dr. Behr and his staff to anyone who is looking for a friendly medical experience.

I think he's a nice doctor in general , very professional and the amount of time spent in the office was great. Very quick, however i don't like the fact that my main issue with my neck and back pain was completely dismissed and was not brought up or acknowledged even though i clearly told the MA i have had pain from the middle of my back to my neck, also feeling very weak and fatigued most days and really wanted to get the doctor's recommendation. I really don't think i'll be going back because i took off of work just to not have my issues addressed yet alone treated. I think if he would ask the patient and listened to what the patient has to say (because clearly its in the chief complaint), he would be an outstanding physician to have.

Dr. Behr is a nice and well spoken doctor who showed genuine interest in my well being. He answered my questions in an educated manner and I will be seeing him again the next time I need a check up. I was very pleased. A+

Bedside manner was not good at all. Doctor acted as if I was lying about the pain I was having and came up with nothing on EKG or Xray's. Also referred to me as morbidly obese while using his dictation software in his office, I know i may be overweight but I'm not looking for a doctor that cant handle discussing the issues with a lighter tone.

When I first met him he seemed a bit uninterested and uneasy, which made me feel worse about my medical condition. Didn't smile laugh joke not once was very strong with demeanor like all he cared about was getting my information, writing down drugs prescriptions and sending me on my way. I wasn't interested in going back to see him again but over time he warms up to his patients. I wouldn't recommend him if you have a soft heart because he can be straight forward and he is very blunt.

Very impressed not only with Dr. Behr but his staff as well. The receptionist at the front was extremely sweet and helpful. My previous doctor, whom I was with for almost five years, retired and I was a little nervous about trying a new one. I'm glad I chose Dr. Behr; he brought up topics and made recommendations that my old doctor never even mentioned!

Dr. Behr was backed up the day of my appointment and it was about an hour after my appt time that they finally called my name. All of the staff members were very friendly though and apologized numerous times about the wait. Once I was in the room Dr. Behr was quick to see me and handle my case. He has a great bedside manner and was very pleasant. I will likely be coming back next time I have any health issues.

I found him to be arrogant and unwilling to listen to what I told him about the amount of pain I was in and my reaction to the medication another doctor put me on. When I said "I took the medication and over an hour later I was in so much pain I started to cry" I was told "It's working, you're just not giving it a chance." Good to know he cares more about preventing a patient from getting the pain medicine they need than helping someone out of pain. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS DOCTOR.

Great 1st visit. Made me feel very comfotable, being a new patient. Even able to make an appt. online, where many offices are hard to get in being a new patient. (Great office staff too) Used computer to input info as we talked and INSTANTLY sent my prescriptions to our pharmacy! And gave a printout as to the reason for visit and meds prescibed!

I enjoyed Dr. Behr quite a bit. He was friendly, thorough and answered any questions I had without making me feel like I was taking up too much time. The only reason for the delay in the office was because they are switching into a new EMR system which will certainly help speed things a long in the future, as well as give me easier access to my health information. I have no issues with the wait time.
