After graduating from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, she completed her residency at Methodist Medical Center. Dr. Smith was drawn to the practice of OB/GYN for the opportunity to develop relationships with her patients, providing care across the stages of their lives. She and enjoys the full spectrum of the specialty, from family planning and obstetrics to well woman care, laparoscopic surgery, and menopause. She was recently named a Health Care Hero by the Dallas Business Journal for her work on the Premiere Perinatal Safety Committee.
Dr. Smith and her husband stay busy with their three children. She is a runner, a reader, and loves to bake and cook with her kids.

I used Dr Smith during my entire pregnancy. She had awful bedside manner; never spoke to my husband or even looked in his direction, completely ignored all of my family in the delivery room. induced my labor for high blood pressure even though I had none of the signs for preeclampsia. As I was getting in position to push with the dr on call, she came on shift and insisted that we had to do a c-section. My baby was then born with a cut on his face. How do you cut a baby? Then she insisted I had high blood pressure and wanted to place me on medication...even though the entire time in the hospital and every time her nurse checked my BP, it was fine. She'd come in to read my BP after her nurse and would get more than 30 points higher. Don't bother. She was just awful!

So basically she looked down on me from the moment I meet her , maybe it was because I am young or because I am black, but she judged me do to the fact that I wasn't married and pregnant, she barely talked to me when we had appointments, she really didn't give me much information about my baby. I came in early one morning said good morning to her, and she looked at me crazy and said "oh morning" rude much! An I MEAN SHE DIDN'T EVEN DELIVER MY BABY, SO WHAT WAS THE POINT IN HAVING HER AS MY DOCTOR. then after I had her she came by my room for two seconds then she left. I do not recommend her if your young , she's very judgmental and looks down on the less privileged.

Really did not care for her. Completely ignored certain things in my family history that I was concerned about and didn't even address my concerns, just tried to convince me to go on a different kind of birth control when I didn't want to, just because I am young. Felt like she didn't take the time to really help my situation, just wanted to move on to next patient and came off as rude instead of caring. I was not seen until almost an hour after I arrived, and even then, had me wait in the exam room for another 10 minutes before I actually saw the doctor. I wasn't even shown to the door after the appointment, just left to find my own way out. Do not recommend.
