Tell us what makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider. From the time I started volunteering at a homeless health clinic, I fell in love with medicine and all of its antics. I most especially love being a part of the journey to my patient’s recovery and sharing in the tears through the small wins and losses. Most importantly, I love that I can truly be a doctor for the family: an advocate that my patients can entrust the lives of their loved ones to. In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs? I take my job very seriously and understand the significance of how mental and physical wellbeing interplay into a person’s overall health. Because of this philosophy, I take into account all aspects of the person, and the root cause of their symptoms rather than just push a pill. Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time? I come from a HUGE, loving family of 8 and have spent essentially all of my life in Texas. My happy place is in the great outdoors with my husband and two pups, be hiking, snowboarding, cycling, or rock climbing. When we’re home, nothing beats a great book or movie night with the family.
