Afterwards, Dr. Kakade graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston, where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. Her clinical training at the University Eye Institute included rotations in the sub-specialties of Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation, Pediatrics and Contact Lenses.
As a doctoral student, she managed complete eye care for veterans primarily afflicted by ocular chemical burns, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age related macular degeneration at the Veteran Affairs Outpatient Care Clinic in Katy, TX. Furthermore, she underwent extensive training fitting specialty contact lenses, treating chronic dry eye and co-management of cataract surgery, LASIK and blepharoplasty at a primary practice in Humble, TX.
She takes special interest in the treatment of ocular diseases and emergencies, specialty contact lens fittings and LASIK management. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Kakade enjoys scoping out new eateries, exploring different countries, kayaking and spending time with her family and friends.
