About Dr. Daniel Wishnow
Born and raised in Bellaire, Dr. Dan Wishnow graduated from Bellaire High School in 1978. He attended the University of Texas at Austin as an undergraduate, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1982. He then pursued further education at the Illinois College of Optometry, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Visual Science in 1984, followed by his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1986. Dr. Dan furthered his education with a Therapeutic Optometric degree to treat eye disorders, and in 2001, he became an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He also specializes in sports vision and contact lenses. Dr. Wishnow served as the Houston Oilers professional football team’s optometrist for 10 years. He is actively involved in co-managing laser surgery, cataract surgery, and other ocular surgeries. Notably, he underwent LASIK surgery himself in 1998.

I went to see Dr Wishnow for my blurred vision at my right eye. Once I arrived, he placed me in an examination room and several pictures were taken. Then he came back and explained to me my diagnosis, causes and treatment plan. Fortunately, my eye problem does not require any treatment and he reassured me it will subside in couple weeks.

The staff and ease of making an appointment were excellent. The efficiently and respectfully checked me in and got directly to my exam. Very professional team. Dr Dan took his time explaining in detail all of the test he was preforming and his bedside manner is second to none. I highly recommend this office and Dr Dan for all your eye needs

The staff were friendly and explained all of the forms and equipment. No more getting your eyes dilated and no puffs of air into your eyes to check the pressure. I didn’t feel rushed during the exam, especially when having to pick between the lines of letters that look the best. It was the most thorough exam I’ve had in years.

I saw Dr. Wishnow for the first time on Wednesday and I have to say he and his staff members are some of the friendliest and most helpful people I've run into. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable and I did not have to wait but 3 minutes before I was seen. Very courteous and professional staff that treat their patients kindly. I will definitely be going back in the future!!!
