Loevy Afanador is a New York State licensed speech-language pathologist and owner of Let There Be Speech, PLLC. She earned her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology after completing her Bachelor's Degree in Health Science with a minor in Occupational Therapy. Loevy holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Loevy is also bilingual in English and Spanish, providing culturally sensitive and linguistically appropriate therapy to diverse populations.
Loevy has worked across multiple settings, including schools, private practices, and home-based therapy, allowing her to gain experience with a wide range of age groups, from pediatrics to adults. She specializes in expressive and receptive language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, oral-motor and swallowing challenges, cognitive rehabilitation, and fluency (stuttering) disorders. Additionally, Loevy is passionate about cognitive stimulation therapy for adults, focusing on improving memory, attention, and executive functioning.
Loevy also has experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Down Syndrome, and she is skilled in implementing Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems, such as PECS and Proloquo2Go.

Loevy is a wonderful speech teacher! My son started seeing her at 2 and is now 3 1/2 … he has come so far and she communicates well with the caregivers - sharing strategies for home. She also has great ideas for carry over from classroom to home. I highly recommend her as a speech provider.

Loevy is the absolute best! She has single handedly improved my son’s articulation delays to the point that he no longer needs services.
She is so prepared for each session and makes it super exciting and fun for my daughter, who she sees now. Loevy is extremely knowledgeable and makes her sessions so fun that my daughter doesn’t even realize she is doing difficult work!
