Dr. Lucas Hansen is a double board-certified psychiatrist in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. He earned his medical degree from Rocky Vista University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he developed his interest in the mind-body connection integral to holistic psychiatric care. Dr. Hansen completed his General Psychiatry residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the University of Nevada, Reno. As Chief Fellow he enjoyed training medical students, residents, and fellows with a firm foundation of psychiatric principles to best serve their patients.
Dr. Hansen's experience spans patients across the lifespan, enabling him to adopt a comprehensive approach to diagnosing and addressing issues, particularly within family dynamics. He has enjoyed serving his patients and their families in the outpatient setting and while working in acute and residential inpatient settings, which has contributed to a well-rounded approach. He values the experience managing complex cases while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Dr. Hansen welcomes patients with a wide spectrum of concerns, from everyday challenges to more complex psychiatric conditions. He integrates a diverse range of therapeutic modalities including supportive therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic approaches. Coupled with medication management when appropriate, Dr. Hansen collaborates closely with patients to formulate personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique goals and circumstances. No matter the scale of the issue, Dr. Hansen is committed to guiding his patients towards achieving their optimal mental health and well-being.
