Dr. Mandeep Virk is a fellowship trained shoulder and elbow surgeon serving the community of New York, NY. Dr. Virk graduated from Delhi University and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Connecticut. He then completed a shoulder and elbow surgery fellowship at Rush University Medical Center where he served as an assistant team physician for the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox.
Dr. Virk is a part of NYU School of Medicine and sees patients at NYU Langone Ambulatory Care West Side and Center for musculoskeletal care on the east side. Dr. Virk sees patients with orthopaedic problems including shoulder and elbow (arthritis, rotator cuff tears, ligament and labral tears) and sports injuries. Dr. Virk is also actively involved in research with growth factors and stem cells and his work is published in leading orthopaedic journals. He is the associate editor for Techniques in Orthopaedics Journal and also serves on the editorial board of American Journal of Orthopaedics.

I greatly recommend!
I suffered for 2 year from sever scapula pain, that radiated to my chest and through my arm. No previous doctors were able to help me or even diagnose me correctly.
Dr. Virk however, immediately saw what was the problem, and gave me the right treatment.
Now, 3 days after, I'm almost pain free.

The only issue I had was an hour wait time because one of his receptionists did not finish processing me into the system. He is an excellent doctor. Took time. Listen to my problem and understand the problem before explaining how he is going to treat and prescribe the medication. Office staff are really friendly and helpful. Waiting time was just 15 mins. Will definitely recommend.

Dr. Virk was fantastic, I'd say that was the best experience I've ever had with a specialist. The entire office was extremely efficient and well-run. Despite arriving late in the day I had virtually no wait for an x-ray, then again no wait for either the attending nurse and then Dr. Virk. Most impressive though was the amount of time Dr. Virk spent with me, discussing my condition, showing me a model of a shoulder model, and asking if I had questions. I am used to specialists understandably always being in a huge rush. Not Dr. Virk. I also appreciated his recommended conservative course of treatment -- he's certainly not quick to escalate.
Overall a tremendous experience. Thank you Dr. Virk, and the Langone center.
