This was my first visit I can tell he is a very good doctor since there were a lot of patients to see him. I waited for a hour or more but worth the wait. He listened to my medical problems and started to feel better with medication he gave me. Would definite make him my urology doctor for all future visits.

Dr. Schumer graduated Cornell University with a Bachelors degree in 1984. He went to medical school at The University of Vermont College of Medicine and then went on to complete a residency in Urology at Maimonides Medical Center. In addition to his clinical training he spent a year at Columbia University in a fellowship performing molecular biology research centering on Programmed Cell Death. During that year Dr. Schumer published multiple articles in many scientific journals and presented at national meetings throughout the country. He won second prize in the Ferdinand Valentine New York State Urologic essay contest two years in a row.
He is a board certified Urologist practicing on the south shore of Long Island. He has served as the Chief of Urology at Brunswick Hospital Center and was the medical director of The Long Island Surgery Center. Dr. Schumer is also on the Urology Board of The Kidney and Urology Foundation and is an original member of Integrated Medical Professionals and has served on its board since inception of the company.

A bit of a wait, but it is a busy practice. He took his time to listen to my problem and figured out what was wrong with me pretty quickly.

Dr Schumer was quick but it took forever to see him. He wanted me to setup appoints every couple of months and wouldn't fill my prescription unless I checked in with him. Meanwhile this was a prescription for something that wasn't a major health issue and Dr. Schumer had told me my issue wasn't serious and that I was fine!
Makes it seem like he just wanted my copay. There was no reason why he couldn't do a follow up over the phone.

I felt a bit rushed, but made sure I got all my questions answered before I left, hence the satisfactory rating I gave above. This is another doctors office that seems to book more patients that they can handle efficiently. The patients end up waiting an hour to be seen.

Staff seemed also nice.
I made appointment online through ZocDoc. Filled out information before I went to office. To my surprise they did not have me down to see him. Some how my ZocDoc appointment did not go through.

Dr. Schumer is the most knowledgeable urologist on Long Island. I know this due to 28 years of pharmaceutical sales experience. His staff is second to none and they, and the doctor, treat you as if you are their only patient. It is a pleasure to visit with Dr. Schumer. I am confident I am receiving the best of care. I recommend Dr. Schumer to all my friends and family.

He is one of the best doctor in medicine, he cooperate, understanding, very knowledgeable about a man need, very good at his job, and saved my life with his ability as a doctor, his knowledge help me to live again, no more acks; pain; headacks or problems, when he draws blood, you dont fell a thing. He doesnt hurt you. I had cancer in the prostate thank to Dr. Schumer I dont have it any more. He save my life.
