The doctors office was packed but the doctor just came from vacation. However, the staff was very nice and did everything possible to get me through. A packed office also indicates a good doctor as long as the staff tries their best to get the patients through. This physician was very professional, kind, genuine and thorough.

Dr. Margarita Borghini, MD has practiced medicine for over 12 years and is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Borghini is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, the Obesity Society, and the American College of Physicians. She specializes in the treatment of obesity.
She is a graduate of Rutgers University (1993 Biology and Spanish Literature), Pennsylvania State College of Medicine (1997) and completed her residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (2000),where she received the 1999 RWJ Internal Medicine Program award for Humanism and Professionalism. Dr. Borghini has a passion for medical education. She has worked as a teaching faculty at Christ Hospital and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She believes that the practice of Medicine should be guided by evidence. She believes “a doctor should practice in a way that reflects scientific evidence”. Dr. Borghini is committed to equipping her patients with the tools that would allow them to live healthy and satisfying lives. Her approach to patient care reflects her strong believe that our emotions, life experiences, and sense of purpose have a direct impact on one’s health. Her passion for medicine and compassion for people has led her to participate in two medical missions to the Latin American country of Ecuador to serve poor communities.
She is the founder of Moreno Medical Associates PC, an internal medicine practice established in 2000. Her career has been unique in that she has extensive experience in primary care as well as hospital medicine. She has worked as a hospitalist for many years. It is through these experiences that she has grown increasingly concerned with the health consequences of obesity. She is the founder and medical director of Center for Medical Weight Loss and Nutrition of Jersey City. This is a comprehensive and multidisciplinary program that seeks to partner with patients in achieving a healthy weight.
Dr. Borghini was born in the Dominican Republic. She immigrated to the USA at the age of 13. She was one of the youngest students to graduate her high school class at the age of 16. She attributes her academic success to a very dedicated mother who nurtured her and sacrificed a great deal for her. She is the youngest of 5 children. Dr. Borghini enjoys cooking, interior design, gardening, and spending time with her husband and children.

Unfortunately with Dr Borghini her work load does not give her the ability to dedicate her time to her patients. I went in with my husband because he was having nose bleeds. He remedy was to go home and relax it was not big deal. She also ordered up some blood work and told my husband that his lever had elevated levels making him and I extremely concerned. She did not follow up with us she mailed my husbands results basically indicating he was good to go. He office staff is clueless and cant even get contact information right. If your looking for a good physician look else where.

My visit with the doctor was pleasurable. She was extremely thorough and seemed very knowledgeable. I thought the visit went quite well.
My only complaint was when I had to go to the nurse for blood and urine test, they send you out of the office and down a long hallway to the rest room and there was a long wait. I do not see why they cant allow patients to use the restroom in their office.

Doesn't listen to symptoms. Orders labs and never calls you with results. Answers phone and texts during your appointment that you waited and hour and 30 min for. I'm finding another doctor.

Office was very crowded, but the staff were very professional and took me in based on my appointment time. The process took around 20-25 minutes, but given there were around 10 people waiting when I got in, I was expecting an hour long wait. Dr. Borghini is very knowledgeable, patient and understanding. I would highly recommend her.

I would NEVER recommend going to this doctors office. Not only were the receptionists rude, I got there 15 minutes early so I could fill out paperwork. It took them 10 minutes to even find it and give it to me. My appointment was supposed to be a 10:15. I waited over an hour only to be called to move into yet ANOTHER WAITING ROOM! I have never had such an awful experience at a doctors office. If you have a set appointment there is absolutely NO reason to wait more than 15 minutes past the scheduled time. People make appointments around their own personal/work schedule. So unprofessional and completely unacceptable. I hope everyone on this site reads this and I strongly encourage you to find a different doctor and office all together.

Dr. Borghini is very nice but way too rushed. It's like she was in a hurry. I like to do research so when I brought up certain rebuttals to blood test results she was a bit offended although polite. But she didn't want to hear my side at all or how I felt about certain things. Symptoms are just as important as blood tests results! But anyway, she can be thorough and is pleasant, so why not?

This lady not only knew how to recognize a serious problem, but actually made me feel like she cared. 3rd doctor in a week, and she was the only one to practically force me into the hospital for evaluation (same day). Dr. Borghini is a great doctor. She creates a very friendly atmosphere. The decor of the clinic is also very nice. Just the wait time is a little bit on the long side. My appointment was at 11AM and I went to see her at 12:30.

overall, very impressive. my appt was made online, and short notice (was skeptical about this). dr. borghini clearly had a urgent matter going on when i arrived. emt's were escorting a patient to the hospital, plus there were others waiting to be seen. but dr. borghini maintained order calmly and directed her staff with competence.
when i sat with dr. borghini she did not make me feel rushed, let me share my concerns, then explained things to me in a way that gave me reassurance.
note: i am generally leery of doctors, never chose a primary care doc, and now seriously considering this doctor as my primary!

From the moment I walked in it was a professional and quiet office. Not overly packed and everyone was seen in a very orderly fashion. They brought me in 5 minutes early. The doctor spent a good 30 to 40 minutes listening and asking lots of questions to really get to the root of my health. I would highly recommend this doctor.
