Dr. Marita Rios was born in Austin and raised in McAllen, Texas. Her path and passion for medicine was inspired by the many doctors and nurses in her family. She graduated with honors with a B.S. in Human Biology and a concentration in Pathogenesis and Immunity from the University of Texas at Austin. She attended medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. After graduating medical school, she attended her top choice for residency at the University of Texas Health Center in Tyler. She was voted the top resident of her graduating class by faculty.
Dr. Rios is an advocate for working together with her patients to provide the best, personalized care for each individual. She believes a personal doctor-patient relationship is the core of primary care and is the foundation of success in the pursuit of excellent mental and physical health.
Dr. Rios enjoys spending her time with family. She also enjoys painting, hiking, traveling, reading novels, and cooking. She is happy to call San Antonio her home and loves the museums and parks that San Antonio has to offer.

I just moved from austin to san antonio and was looking for a new primary care. Dr. Rios was excellent and very thorough, and provided extensive information about the questions I asked. It’s hard to find a good primary care so if you’re in need do not overlook Dr. Rios!
