More about Dr. Mark Kabins, MD

Mark Kabins, MD studied neurosurgery and orthopaedics at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. He received a Bachelor of Science in biology and psychology in 1982 at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. He later completed his residency in orthopaedics at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and a spine fellowship at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. After completing an internship, residency, and fellowship, Dr. Kabins settled into a position as a professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. He later took on the role of Adjunct Clinical Supervisor at the Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine. A prolific researcher, Dr. Kabins has written many articles in renowned industry journals. His work appears in The American Surgeon, The Journal of Bone Joint Surgery, The Iowa Orthopaedic Journal, and more. He is currently an advisory member for The Spine Journal. Dr. Kabins also belongs to professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Board of Spine Surgery. Dr. Kabins continues to receive education by attending multiple seminars each year. In 2010, he attended the ProDisc-L surgeon education program in San Francisco, where he completed training in advanced cervical solutions. Dr. Kabins recently attended the 25th Annual Meeting of the North American Spine Society.
