Dr. Tesser was professional, considerate and straightforward. I would recommend him but as I just learned unfortunately, he's retiring soon.

A solid dermatologist. I've been going to him for years, but just noticed he was on Zoc so started to book here. His demeanor can apear uninterested, but he knows his stuff. He's quick and doesn't do the best job explaining your medication unless you ask repeated questions about it. However, he found and successfully removed my mother's melanoma, which one could argue saved her life.

Very honest - immediately referred me to a surgeon for my problem rather than try to do it himself. Appreciated the honesty.
Did not give adequate attention. Kept leaving the room to have conversations with others, and was rude when he came back.
Quick.. I was seen before my appointment time. Fast, courteous and a warm demeanor. I recommend Dr. Tesser highly!
This visit was fast no waiting. Doctor has several years experience and made diagnosis and body check in 5 minutes .
While his office seemed pretty efficient, he didn't seem to care so much about my issue and I felt very rushed.
He's professional yet caring and he's been rated Top Doctor by his peers for over ten years and that says alot.

Good, very professional. Slightly rushed, but I understand there's lots of patients to see.
Quick, pleasant and got to the point. Wait wasn't bad at all, and the staff was lovely.

Dr. Tesser is a consummate professional; knowledgeable; skilled; reassuring; thorough.

A dermatologist should not appear visibly grossed out by a patient's skin conditions.
Does not like to explain things, rushes through. seems knowledgeable but not caring.
Well informed love the service he offer with the trip from.westchester to see him
Verified patient
He was personable and knowledgeable and the office staff was sufficiently nice.

The doctor himself was professional and helpful. Felt I waited an excessive amount of time to be seen, however, possibly because the office staff were schmoozing rather than doing their jobs..
Quick and efficient

I viist twice a year becuase of skin cancer history and he always ensures that the screen is done and that anything suspicious is removed. He is personable and professional, and also nice to work with.
Good DR, little slow on the waiting.
Dr. Tesser spent 5-10 minutes with me talking about his daughter and 2 minutes about my skin. When I tried to explain the history of my condition, he told me not to diagnose myself (I wasn't, I was just telling him what other doctors said). He quickly wrote a prescription but didn't even give me any idea of how to use it, what it would do, or what was going on. I left feeling very confused and wondering why I had come.
Very thorough. Answered questions.
After waiting for the doctor app. 45 mins (despite having an appointment) he spent literally 3 mins with me. I had more questions for him to answer but didn't seem like he had time for me. I would not go there to see him again.
I had to wait a while to see the doctor, and when I did he was very brief and perfunctory with me. I did not feel that he had assessed my skin fully and got the impression that he wanted to be back with his other patient next door (I'd heard lots of laughing and joking from that consultation room whilst I was waiting).
I thought Dr. Tessler was nice enough, but he barged into my exam room right after the MA had asked me to change into a gown. Luckily, I hadn't started undressing yet, but if I had it would have been very inappropriate. After that, I waited about 15 minutes for him to come back and once again, he didn't knock. He just opened the door and walked in. He was friendly, but I was a little put off by his hastiness. Still, he answered all of my questions thoroughly. Not sure if I'll go back to him. One other thing I don't like is that their office keeps your credit card of file to bill you for any additional charges not covered by your insurance rather than sending you a bill. This means that if for some reason your insurance company denies your claim, your credit card will automatically be charged the balance. So, you will be out that money without the chance to dispute the claim. Obviously, you can get refunded if an appeal is successful, but I don't like that this is their process as it puts the patient at a greater financial risk.
Dr Tesser is always very generous with his time and thorough with his explanations. On a visit for a simple skin rash, he discovered a mole that needed a biopsy. It turned out to be melanoma. I'd never have thought twice about it but he noticed it right away, saying "When were you going to ask me about this?" I visit him at both offices and have always had no problem getting in to see him when the need arises. I do prefer his Manhattan office because he's there 3 or 4 days/week, but Brooklyn is more convenient. I can't recommend him highly enough!

He kept me waiting for 1/2 hour while I was in the exam room while he discussed a real estate deal in the next room (I could hear the entire conversation through the door). When he finally came in, he did not even acknowledge the questions that I asked him. My exam was on June 26 and I did not get my biopsy results until July 18 after placing several phone calls to his office and leaving several messages. Finally, after calling his Manhattan office and screaming about the need for my biopsy results, he get on the phone and said the results came back on July 10 and he never received any messages that I called (I doubt that). I would never recommend this doctor to anyone.
I'm a new patient. Actually this is my first doctor's appointment in NYC ever. Tesser's front desk assistants are a little grim and cold, but he's not. We briefly reviewed my condition and new developments and prescribed new medications for the latter. Great conversationalist -- brusque but honest. Here's to hoping I don't need to visit again anytime soon, but if I do, I'll be coming back here.
Being that it was my 1st time, I had some paper work to fill out, which took some time. I was there all of 50 min, and was with Dr. Tresser for about 12 min. Overall, I received answers to my questions.
A solid dermatologist. I've been going to him for years, but just noticed he was on Zoc so started to book here. His demeanor can apear uninterested, but he knows his stuff. He's quick and doesn't do the best job explaining your medication unless you ask repeated questions about it. I have been to Dr. Tesser a few times for a variety of skin problems over the years. He has always been competent and effective with treatment, a good communicator, and easy to talk to. My wife had an obscure skin condition, and when she saw him, he immediately asked if she were using a specific new drug. It showed that he was up on current medical literature. Highly recommended.
I had to wait about 35 minutes for my appointment - which I kind of expected, as it was the last appointment of the day. He was more thorough than the dermatologist I had seen before him (who did not fix my skin problem) - but was still a bit curt. We'll see if the medication he prescribed works...
Dr. Tesser is friendly and knowledgeable. He's a bit of a character, but in a charming way. The office staff is nice and the wait time was minimal.
I came to see Dr. Tesser on the recommedation that I meet with a Dermatologist for some moles on my back and rash on my ankle. Dr. Tesser gave me a once over said I was fine and "that is how god made you." When he asked about the rash, I tried to give a history and he cut me off 1 minute in. He gave me a prescription that temporarily worked and now the rash is back.
