Dr. Welch has been part of the AAD family since 2016, following 17 years with the Skin Cancer Surgery Center. A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and New York Medical College, he completed his residency in Dermatology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and a fellowship in Mohs Surgery at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Upon his return to Walter Reed, Dr. Welch served as chief of Dermatologic Surgery. After completing his military service, he became a founding partner at SCSC. He is a long-time member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, Osler Society and the District of Columbia Dermatological Society, where he served as both President and Vice President. He has been serving as the Chief Medical Director of Anne Arundel Dermatology since August 2022.
