Max Pollock first learned of Carbon Health as an urgent care patient in Oakland. At the time, he was working as a medical evacuation pilot, flying on-demand trips with teams of surgeons carrying organs for transplantation. He was drawn to medicine because it meant daily face-to-face interactions with patients, starkly opposed to the sterile confines of the cockpit.
