“Although the office is a bit of a drive from where I live, I would happily go back to this office and see Dr. Childers. She is professional, calming and is a great listener. I really felt that she cared about my symptoms and wanted to create a plan of care that was best for my needs. I was seen almost immediately and was able to get lab work done that same visit. The staff is fun, friendly and professional. Highly recommend! ”

About Meghan Childers
Downtown Medical Group requires all patients to upload their insurance information within 24 hours of booking. We need to verify patients’ insurance prior to their appointment. Downtown Medical Group may reach out to patients for a credit card to be placed on file, as we charge $75.00 for any appointments canceled or marked as no-shows within 24 hours of the appointment time.
Booking with an in-network plan does not guarantee that your insurance will cover 100% of your visit. Please check with our office for details.
Other concerns or conditions (acute or chronic) cannot be treated during annual physicals.
Our office does not accept any student health plans. We strongly encourage you to contact our office to verify your coverage before booking an appointment.
We are able to schedule audio-video telemedicine visits for some of our new and established patients, depending on their conditions and needs. Thank you for your understanding during these challenging times.
Meghan Childers, FNP-C, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Southern Connecticut State University. She earned her Master’s degree in nursing from Simmons University in Boston and completed her clinical training in the Bay Area to become a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Meghan believes preventative care and education are fundamental to high-quality healthcare, which begins with approaching the whole person—not simply a condition or disease.
Born and raised in Connecticut, Meghan lived in various parts of New England before moving to San Francisco in 2017. Some of her interests include travel, yoga, and hiking. In her personal time, she enjoys being outdoors in the company of her family and friends.

I really liked Meghan Childers, FNP-C NP! She spent quite a bit of time with me and was very communicative about what she was going to be doing for my "well woman" exam as she was doing it. She definitely took her time with me and seemed genuinely interested in understanding my experience. Would recommend highly!

I got a next day appointment for a sinus infection with Downtown Medical Group to see Meghan Childers, FNP-C, through Zocdoc while I was in SF visiting my children.
That day I received some simple pre-visit information requests. The office is very nice, the staff are welcoming, I had no wait, and Meghan, the provider was professional and helpful.
I have added this practice to my contacts as I frequent SF often.

I booked an appointment for an annual physical with this nurse practitioner, and this clinic managed to mishandle every step of the process. First, there is no parking lot or any secure place to park on the premises. I spent 15 minutes circling for street parking. When I finally arrived, the staff immediately tried to charge me a copay for an annual physical, which is not standard of practice.. BUYER BEWARE!
Then they handed me new patient paperwork that was completely different from what is on Zocdoc website. The moment I finished, they abruptly informed me that they could no longer see me, citing that I took "too long to fill out their new patient paperwork". This was hands-down one of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had in a medical setting.

Not only is she a very kind person, she is attentive and listens carefully to my concerns or questions, she is knowledgeable and explains things clearly, and I truly felt comfortable throughout my visit. Meghan Childers was warm, kind and a thorough listener and communicator. She made me feel comfortable and supported. I’m glad I chose her as my provider for this appointment. She took care of my annual physical, addressed my underlying concerns and gave me appropriate referrals. Wait time wasn’t too long and the front desk staff Yula was pleasant, prompt and informative. The office was clean, tidy and comfortable and there was water, candy and free samples of perfume in the lobby which was a nice touch. I had no issues with checking in or with my insurance being accepted. The nurse who did my blood work was also super sweet but I forgot to ask for her name. All in all, I had a great first experience here and trust that I’ll be in good hands going forward!

I took a day off work to accompany my husband for an appointment with a podiatrist.
We traveled by MUNI and then my 91 year old husband walked uphill using a walker to the appointment. The provider was listed on zocdoc as a podiatrist but she was not a podiatrist- she was a nurse practitioner.
False advertising is not acceptable when it involves people’s lives.

She was very clear and concise about her thoughts on my condition, as well as took the time to learn about past medical history for future visits and recommended multiple options for medication I could take, as well as being very diligent about finding a neurologist referral that accepted my insurance.
