My visit with Melanie Herzfeld was extremely informative, helpful and reassuring. I left her office believing that I now had a set of tools with which to approach the treatment of my tinnitus. I had been to see 3 audiologists and otolaryngologists previously and none of them had been able to provide me with the information that she did. I now feel hopeful that I will be able to eventually overcome this very frustrating problem.

Melanie was very nice and recommended some devices for tinnitus. However, they were not for me. Unfortunately the only real solution currently is not to focus on the tinnitus. In time, you simply get used to it most of the time but not all the time.

Following her advice I had a MRI scan even if it was not clear that I needed one. Due to the loud noise, the MRI scan only worsened my tinnitus. She never told me that these tests are noisy or how I could be better prepared for them (best ear protection to wear).
After this, even if she knew that the MRI had hurt me, she never took time to call me or to write me herself to know how I was doing or that she was sorry for what had happened.
